What is YVolunteer?

YVolunteer is a program that links young people with community organisations that need volunteers. We find out what community organisations want and what young volunteers are interested in, and then match them up.

Volunteering benefits agencies by:

How does the program work?

The section Getting volunteers involved goes through the process of getting young people involved in at your agency. Any specific logistical questions may also be found in the YVolunteer Agency FAQ section.

Who runs YVolunteer?

YVolunteer is run by the Youth Services Manager at Volunteering WA, a non-profit organisation that helps bring together volunteers and community organisations.
We have over 400 member community organisations with over 700 volunteer positions available.

Volunteering WA also runs training courses for organisations, special programs for senior volunteers and special events for volunteers and organisations. See the Youth Services Manager staff profile by clicking here. Contact the Youth Services Manager by ringing 08 9482 4333 or by e-mailing youth@volunteer.org.au.

How can this web site help me?

The Agencies section of the web site is designed to support agencies that wish to take on young volunteers. It goes through the processes involved and any issues that may arise.

The main YVolunteer web site is geared towards young people, and its aim is to inspire them to think about the issues they care about, and show them how to act on it.

See the volunteer section, which helps young people explore volunteering and how they can help their community.

There is also a Teachers’ section aimed at supporting teachers through the process of involving their students in volunteer activities.
